Charles was called to West in 1999 from Legacurry Presbyterian. He enjoys teaching as well as being alongside people to share the love of Christ with others. Charles works in conjunction with the Elders to provide overall vision and direction for the Church. His favourite Bible text is John 3:30 ‘He must increase; I must decrease͛.
Charles served as Moderator of the Presbyterian Church in Ireland for 2018/19.

Andy was called to West as our Associate Minister after serving as our Assistant Minister. Andy works closely with Charles, oversees Cafechurch and heads up the Worship Action Team. He also heads up our Alpha courses.
Andy is our full-time Pastoral Associate who works closely with those who volunteer pastorally within West including Church Visitors, Senior Care Team and other Pastoral Care groups. Andy brings a wealth of experience to his role in heading up the Pastoral Care team.
David is our Minister Emeritus, our Minister who started it all off over 50 years ago and led West Church from 1961 to 1998 building it up from a church plant to a large and vibrant congregation. He is now enjoying a busy retirement with his lovely wife Rhoda and family.
Louise is our Student Deaconess, currently in her final placement year with Union College. Louise will minister pastorally to women of all aged and stages as well as developing various programmes for women to share life and faith through discipleship and mentoring. She sees her role as an opportunity to walk side by side with one another going deeper in our love for Jesus and others.
Jim works with West two days a week visiting the elderly and housebound as well as helping with Prayer Ministry. Jim is a retired Presbyterian Minister and is very much an evangelist who uses every opportunity to share the good news of Jesus Christ.
Roy has recently retired from Ballygilbert Presbyterian Church where he ministered for almost 24 years. Roy, a past Moderator joins our staff team as a Pastoral Assistant and will be visiting members of our congregation as well as preaching one Sunday each month.
Andrew is our Youth & Children’s Worker who has overall vision for our Youth & Children’s ministry. He oversees our Youth Worker, Harry McBride, and Children’s Worker, Vic Croft, as well as our team of Interns, Daniel Conway, Jessica Dorrian, Jordan McKee and Courtney Thompson, so is returning to West on for her final year placement with University. Andrew also works closely with our teenagers and our Kirk Session keeping them well informed about the wonderful work taking place in our Youth & Children’s department.
Harry was appointed our Youth Worker in August 2019 after initially completing a year as one of our Interns and most recently as a temporary Youth Worker with us. Harry will work closely with Andrew overseeing Young West, Coffee Bar and Small Groups. He will also be involved with YoungLife. Harry has a passion for the charity Abaana, and has just recently returned from leading a Young West team in Uganda.
Gillian is our Director of Worship and a second generation organist, who, as an expression of her own openness and versatility, also delights in playing well know praise songs or creating her own compositions. She expresses her services in many ways, drawing up praise rotas or coming alongside team members with pastoral concerns.
Cheryl takes up the position of Senior Office Administrator in October when she will manage the daily running of the office and the church premises including working closely with our Charles, the Pastoral team, Congregation Committee and the various Sub Groups formed from Committee. Cheryl also edits and produces our West Life magazine as well as heading up the Communications sub-group of Committee. Cheryl also gives much of her spare time to the Church as our Girls’ Brigade Captain.
Wendy is our part-time Church Administrator working two days each week. Wendy works closely with Cheryl and the Pastoral team, dealings with many queries and requests that a busy congregation demands, many of these tasks unseen to ensure the smooth running of our church. Wendy is also a busy mum to 3 young girls.
