Our aim: To seek, serve and follow Christ.
JUNIORS (P5-P7):
Would you like to:
- Have lots of fun?
- Make new friends?
- Learn about Jesus?
- Play Duster Hocker and other team games?
- Enter Marching and P.E. competitions?
- Make lots of different craft things?
- Go on special outings and have special guest visitors?
- and there's so much more as well.....
SENIORS (Yr8-Yr10) & BRIGADERS (Yr 11+):
Would you like to:
- Chill out/catch up and make new friends?
- Dance e.g. Cheerleading?
- Play sports such as Unihoc, Volleyball, Badminton etc.?
- Learn about God and openly chat about what the Bible has to say about issues facing girls today?
- Do Drama, crafts and bake?
- Develop leadership skills?
- Go on nights out?
- and there's so much more as well.....
Come along on a Wednesday evening 7.15 pm - 9.00 pm and see what's going on!
WHAT ELSE IS ON OFFER?
THE DUKE OF EDINBURGH'S AWARD:
All girls aged 14 and over are given the opportunity to take part in the DofE at all 3 levels - Bronze, Silver and Gold.
To achieve ths Award you must:
- Help at GB, Sunday School, a Charity Shop or coach a sports team for your Volunteering
- learn a new sport or take your current sport to the next level for your Physical
- learn new skills like driving a car, cook, read books by a new author - take this opportunity to try something new for your Skill!
- Finally, pack your rucksack, learn how to read a map, use a compass and how to cook outdoors before hearing to the hills (for Bronze & Silver we go to the Mournes and for Gold - well that's a bit special...we are currently planning "2013 - The Lake District"
Once you've all this completed at all 3 levels (and included a Residential Activity at Gold), it's off to St. James' Palace, Holyrood House or Hillsborough Castle.
GO ON, GIVE IT A GO - "THE ADVENTURE STARTS HERE!"
QUEEN'S AWARD:
The highest recognised Award in Girls' Brigade is offered to girls aged 16 years and above and takes a minimum of 2 years to complete.
To achieve ths Award you must:
- Show Spiritual Development
- Take part in Company and Community Service
- Complete 2 Initiative Tests
- Complete a project which can be written, visual, a piece of creative work etc.
- Pass a Study Paper
- Take part in a final assessment
PATH TO LEADERSHIP:
Girls who show leadership qualities, an interest in working with children and who have been selected by the Captain and Chaplain will be encouraged to go forward for Sub-Officer training anda will hopefully then continue on to complete Officer training. Anyone who has not been involved with Girls' Brigade and who may be interested in joining the leadership team - please contact the Church Office.
