Bangor West Nursery Playgroup
Bangor West Nursery Playgroup
WELCOME:
Our playgroup was set up in 1973 and in the past 37 years has seen generations of children pass through its doors. We now have children of children who attended!
In 2007 the playgroup moved into new purpose built, state of the art accommodation.
“In making the decision to send all my children to Bangor West Playgroup,
I feel that I have given them the best start to their life in education.
We appreciate very much what all the girls have done and the love and friendship that they have provided over the years.”
ETHOS:
We seek to make our playgroup an extension of home. Our aim is to help your child attain optimum development – social, emotional, intellectual and physical. We strive to create a happy, caring, warm and safe environment where your child is given the best care in a relaxed and pleasant atmosphere. Our desire is that he or she will be secure and happy and that you, as parents/carers, will also feel welcome as part of our playgroup.
SETTLING IN:
Settling in is very important for both parent/carer and child. We work in partnership with you and would encourage you to remain with your child until both you, and we, are satisfied that he/she has settled. Each child is an individual and will be ready to settle at their own pace.
“The genuine warmth, care and support shown to both my son and I during the difficult settling in period was invaluable and very much appreciated.”
POLICIES:
We have an extensive set of written policies. These are on display each morning for parents to read.
In Term 2 we encourage parents to spend a morning with us to witness the all too fleeting experience of your child’s pre-school year.
‘LITTLE RED BOOK’
Your child will have a ‘little red book’ which is a unique keepsake of their experiences, friends and progress during their time with us. This is something you can cherish forever.
The Playgroup is run by a Management Committee which contains parent representation. We are members of Early Years (the organisation for young children) and are registered and inspected annually by Social Services and inspected by the Dept. of Education for Northern Ireland(DENI). The Playgroup is open from 9.00 am - 12.00 noon, Monday to Friday during School Term Time and is registered for 26 children per day.
We have enjoyed a long and warm relationship with local primary schools and have deeply embedded roots within the local community.
“Delighted with how all the leaders treat and respect my child, they have great patience and a caring attitude. I have full confidence that my child is completely safe in their care. They help her develop in confidence and encourage her independence.
Thanks you have a great team!”
