The Presbyterian Orphan and Children’s Society

The Society helps children in families where:

  • Parents or a parent is deceased;
  • Parents are separated/divorced;
  • Parents or a parent experiences long-term illness or disability;
  • The mother is single;
  • There are other special circumstances

The family and children must fulfil the following criteria:

Family

  • Must be under the pastoral care of a local Presbyterian congregation;
  • Must have income under the Society’s limits. These limits are broadly based and include most families on benefits and below average earnings.

Children

  • Must be in full-time or part-time education (part-time education is defined as two or more days a week at an education/training establishment).
  • Must be under 23 years of age.
