Counselling and Ministry

S
pend quality time with a trained counsellor and co-counsellor over a number of meetings.

You will be able to explore any problematic issues with a view to understanding them and how they are affecting you, so enabling you to resolve them.

Where and When

This type of extended counselling and/or ministry takes place in one of two ministry rooms available in the Welcome Area in West Church. Appointments are arranged by contacting Heather Thompson through the Church Office.

How

Two members of the counselling and ministry team will be available to meet with you. We will welcome you and listen to what your concerns are. We will then give you an overview of our approach to counselling and to any ministry we might offer you. As we interact you will be able to decide whether we can be of help, in which case we will proceed to meet for as long as is useful to you in helping you towards change.

In counselling we use an eclectic model incorporating Biblical principles. We also offer ministry under the leading of the Holy Spirit because we believe that as you work through towards change, ultimately all healing and restoring is achieved with God's help. All counsellors adhere to the Association of Christian Counsellors Code of Ethics and Practice.
