Powerful prayer

J
esus explained "Whenever two of you on earth agree about anything you pray for, it will be done for you by my Father in heaven." (Matthew 18:19 GNB)

Prayer is powerful! If you want someone to pray for you contact the church office with your requests. Or maybe you could join us at one of our prayer meetings (see times - right).

Below are some key issues & people which we would love you to pray for! Just speak to God about these. Ask Him to help you pray for them.

Jesus said "There is a large harvest, but few workers to gather it in. Pray to the owner of the harvest that he will send out workers to gather in his harvest. (Luke 10:2 GNB)

Pray for our Leaders

Our Leaders: Ministers, Assistants, Elders, and various other group leaders in West need your prayers and support. "Ask God to help and bless them all, and tell God how thankful you are for each of them." (1 Timothy 2:1 CEV). They do a vital job and they need God's help and our encouragement.

"Obey your leaders and do what they say. They are watching over you, and they must answer to God. So don't make them sad as they do their work. Make them happy. Otherwise, they won't be able to help you at all." (Hebrews 13:17 CEV)

Pray for our students

Some of our young people are studying away from home, in Scotland, England and France. Please pray for them, that God would look after them and bless them.

Please tell us if you know of other young people from West who are studying away from home. Andy Bell, Director of Youth Ministries seeks to maintain contact and visit students while at university.

Pray for our missionaries

The Hopkinsons George and Grenville moved to Kathmandu in July 2008, with Grenville starting his new job as Strategy and Development Policy Director at the United Mission to Nepal.

Barry McCroskery is working as a minister and missionary in Indonesia, with his family. He grew up in West and his father is also a member of West.

Pray for our Government

"Pray for kings and others in power, so that we may live quiet and peaceful lives as we worship and honor God." (1 Timothy 2:2 CEV)

It is important that we pray for our government. God wants to be involved and it is good for us to bring the current issues before him. We should ask God to give the politicians wisdom to do what is right and that he would protect them from evil influences.

Thank you for your prayers! They are precious and powerful because God both hears and answers them.
